Vienna Werkstätte

The Vienna Werkstätte Rug Collection honours the early 20th century alliance of artists and designers, known as Wiener Werkstätte, who sought to eliminate the boundary between craft and fine art through well-designed and functional objects. Influenced by the Werkstätte's hallmark commitment to craftsmanship and avant-garde design, Elte’s contemporary patterns are balanced through the use of an old-world Persian knot. Hand-knotted from wool and silk, the collection achieves dimension through carving, distressing and oxidization.
